Abaddon’s Son (0048)

Here is a very tongue-in cheek song that turns into  story about how, as a little boy,
somethings can/could be taken literally, when said by an adult.

Verse 1
I hear a cry from the thunder
A cry from Abaddon
When I die to Hell I will fly
The land of the burning sun.

Verse 2
I live to die, I’m dying for death
My heart beats doom to the last fatal breath
“Abaddon!  Abaddon!  I am your son”
I was born to die, for Hell is my home.

Chorus
There’s a devil in me, a devil in me
I live as a sinner in a flaming tree
There’s a devil in me, a devil in me
I was a little devil at the age of 3.

Verse 3
They say I’m looking for trouble
And trouble I will find
I spew the waves of riddle-ish plays
With  a devilish theme in mind.

Verse 4
I live for me but I feel for all
I’ll raise and anger and laugh if I fall
“Guilty!  Guilty!” – am I to be
A devil on a level that the angels can’t see.

Chorus
There’s a devil in me, a devil in me
I live as a sinner in a flaming tree
There’s a devil in me, a devil in me
I was a little devil at the age of 3.

Verse 5
I hear a cry from down under
In the early hours of morn’
I saw the time and it just spelt crime
Knew my mother would rage and scorn
And here she comes in a raging storm:

“It’s time you were in bed”  (Mama Aboddon!)
“How long have you been up?” (Mama Abaddon!)
“When I say go to bed I mean…” (Mama Abaddon!)
“Lights out and go to sleep” (Mama Abaddon!)
“Not mess around all night” (Mama Abaddon!)
“Doodling a load of nothing”  (Mama Abaddon)
“Wasting paper and ink” (Mama Abaddon!)
“Lack of sleep did no-one any good” (Mama Abaddon!)
“I don’t know – you’re a little devil aren’t you!”  (Mama Abaddon!)

Mama ma ma ma – Mama Abaddon!
Mama ma ma ma – Mama Abaddon!
Mama ma ma ma – Mama Abaddon!
Mama ma ma ma – Mama Abaddon!

Chorus
There’s a devil in me, lost in the sea
I’m a bad seaman in the family tree
A devil in me, my mother said to me:
“You maybe a little devil but you’ll be the death of me.”
