• ‘Perpetual Feast’ lyrical amendment

    Hi all,

Just noticed these lyrics have been gaining quite a few reads today, so I had a glance over them and, didn’t think the layout and words really came over as they should (although in my mind when I wrote them they did).   Due to this I have changed a few lines and typed it in one large block instead of the typical layout (eg. verse, chorus, verse, bridge).   Hopefully this will make the read smoother flowing and more comprehendible and come over how I meant it to.  Perhaps I finalised this song a bit too soon, instead of making the necessary minor perfections.  Sorry, and I hope the lyrics are more relative to me and my desire for music.

    Thanks,

  • Circular Track (Song 838 maybe)

    Hello all,

All, as in subscribers, followers and other readers who are curious about what goes on in my writing world.  I am currently writing a new song called circular track.   It is gonna be another very deep song which, when living as a writer, you do tend to become a bit self-absorbed and analytical…  well I do lol, hence the ‘Perpetual Feast’ theme which I have recently adopted to describe my writing pursuit.   Here is a snip-it from the 3 verses I have already written:

I’m going ‘round in circles and the ground is wearing thin
Should I step out of this groove that I’m in?
I’m easily pleased and the pleasure still remains
I’m going nowhere fast but…   it keeps me sane.

When people ask if I’ve had any success yet I have to give the inevitable answer, “No”.  But, success is a personal thing and not down to whether you’ve managed to become rich and famous through doing something you enjoy.   Many songwriters are probably wanting it to become something more than an interest and, if that is the case, will tend to seek advice and support to achieve success.  I don’t because I feel that would pollute my own personal creativity.   Perhaps I should try harder to gain attention, but for now all I am prepared to do is do what I do and leave it down to readers and listeners to decide whether they like it or not.  I know when I could have done something better, in terms of writing, recording and (even more so) singing,  It would be pointless paying for critics to assess my work because I know where my faults lie and I feel it is my decision as to how to amend these faults.  As I am not really a singer I do hope to find other singers and musicians that can help me improve my songs, eventually.  In terms of style and appeal, other people’s views are irrelevant as I am just presenting my music as an art form at this point in time.   I hope, obviously, that people do enjoy my music and can relate to my lyrics despite my lack of desire to progress on a professional level.

Thanks for reading this and hope you are able to appreciate the songs I am writing and producing,

  • Website update (settings changed)

    Hi all,

I have just amended the settings on my website and hopefully, now, it will be easier to view the site and there will be no attachment which I didn’t create anymore.   I can’t guarantee I’ve amended everything as necessary so let me know if you do have problems still.  Thanks.

  • The latest song to be added to SoundCloud (Song 699)

    https://soundcloud.com/thelostconnection/the-invisible-divide-song-699?utm_source=soundcloud&utm_campaign=share&utm_medium=facebook

    Hello everyone,
This is the song I recorded 0n 08-09-18 and uploaded the latest mix a few days later in the week.  It is another song which I created the music for some time ago, but hadn’t got around to singing it.  As it happens, I had to recreate the whole song from scratch again as I seemed to have lost the music from the keyboard’s memory bank.  I do have other tracks to complete still, but will be creating completely new tracks also.  The website is as complete as it can be now and I will reveal all to the world soon.   Thanks for listening and reading the blogs.

  • This week’s update

    Hello all,

Today I have bombarded Twitter with many of my old and new songs just to see which songs are preferred by the Twitter world.   Fortunately, my favourites were the ones which gained the most ‘likes’ and listens (and thanks to all those who made up those statistics).   Very soon I will be promoting my website to the world via Facebook (and maybe Twitter too).  My reason for doing this is just so my last 16 months are acknowledged (whether liked or not is another matter, but hopefully people will check it out and enjoy some of the lyrics and songs within.   I do have other lyrics on the way and will add them to my site once complete.

Thanks to all who have spent time listening to my songs today and hope you have enjoyed them, but apologies if not.  If you like what I write spread the word, but not too much as I enjoy working in my small, unknown and  secluded capacity.  If you are a musician, or in the industry, and are able to play these songs better or know of anyone who can, I would be very happy to hear the results.

Thanks for listening, reading and/or following me.

  • New lyrics/poems

    Hi all,
This week I have completed a few new lyrics and poems and still have a couple left to complete.  They have been added to the ‘The Lost Connection: the complete list of songs, lyrics and poems’.  I will add the other ones as soon as they are complete too.  Below are the latest song lyrics and poems.

    0831  Perpetual Feast:    Lyrics
    0832  Perpetual Winner:   Lyrics
0833  Just Friends (With Benefits): Lyrics
0834  TV History At 50:     Poem
0835  The Lost Waltz Song:    Lyrics
    0836  My Special Space:    Poem

‘Perpetual Feast’ is the title for my songwriting (if put on an album).  I stuck with the theme for ‘Perpetual Winner’.

‘Just Friends (With Benefits)’ is another song which, if recorded, will be put in the “Under The Influence Of…’ playlist on ‘SoundCloud’.

‘TV History At 50’ involved a bit of research, for once, and was inspired by my age 5o and ‘Hawai Five-0’.  Coincidently, this programme started in the year I was born and ended in 1980, when I was hit by a lorry and on a life support machine (and my life nearly ended).

’The Lost Waltz Song’ is a set of lyrics I have written for a very old tune I created at the same time as, ‘My Piano Tune Song’ (which I also added lyrics too recently).  The lyrics are about music and highlight the weird style of this song.

‘My Special Space’ is about my chair on the patio where most my thinking goes on.

‘Loose Women’ I have just started writing and ‘Distant’ is almost complete.

Update over and thanks for reading.

  • The Month Of Reincarnation

    Hi all,

Nothing new has been written this month yet, although new ideas are always floating around, but I am pleased to have dug up some old tunes that have never had vocals accompaniments.… until now.  These recordings weren’t uploaded to impress people (as always) but just to make me feel better knowing that I have finally  completed them.  But, however, ‘Feeling Sound’ is a great piece of music which was recorded somewhen in the early 2000s.  I wrote lyrics for this music years later, with a commercial hint (as it was about enjoying the vibe in a party environment – although not really a party tune as such).  Anyway, I really like it and hopefully a few more people will.    https://soundcloud.com/thelostconnection/feeling-sound
Thanks for reading this blog and hopefully I’ll get back to recording new songs again soon.

  • Website Update

    Hello all,

This week I have been amending my, ‘Songs, lyrics and poems list’ and now it is much easier to read and understand.  There is now a link alongside each title, if not several, and the links are:

    Lyrics,
    Poem,

    Song,
    Music only,
    Music sample.

I am still trying to improve my songs vocally, musically and/or the production, as well as turn the rest of my lyrics into songs.  I may even add ‘music only’ to more of the titles so people can, if they want, try their vocals instead.   It is very probable that other musicians could play these songs a lot better too, and I will always welcome anyone wishing to do this (as one young ukulele player did earlier this year, for a part of “Like A Drug’.  He also changed the tempo and style completely).

Many of the lyrics have been slightly amended already, as they were originally written very spontaneously and without the need to impress anyone, but were just a way of me logging my thoughts and literal creativity.

If I manage to perfect my songs to a substantial level I may create/release an album.  I have already decided the title will be, “Perpetual Feast’.  This is also the name of one of my newest sets of lyrics.  This defines why I create music and the sentiments behind it.

I’m just about to complete 2 more song lyrics.   One is keeping with the perpetual them (‘Perpetual Winner’) and the other is…  Oh, I won’t say for now, but it will be listed as and when completed.

Thanks for reading this blog and if you like anything I do, let me know sometimes.  You can even tell me if you don’t like any of it and I will listen and maybe even agree with your opinions, as I know there is plenty of room for improvement.

  • Song List Update

Hi all linked to ‘The Lost Connection’.

I have amended the list below, so now the songs can be viewed a lot easier, in numerical order, from top to bottom.  I didn’t get chance to record a new song this week, but will do very soon and continue to improve the older ones, hopefully.

Also, good to see ‘Innovator’ (the rock band I used to be in) release a new album which was half recorded when I left the band.  Thankfully, 95% of my recorded parts on the were left on the album.

Thanks for reading and hope to record and write more things that I hope others like, in the future.
