On re-reading ‘What Lies Behind The Truth’ it wasn’t as good as I first thought. I was gonna re-write it but decided to just write a completely new song lyrics instead. I may replace the previous song with this one though,
Chorus
The majority rule
Is what they say
Especially in a land of
Democracy.
Who knows more, who knows less?
Can we believe news in the press?
Everybody thinks they know what’s best
But nobody does and that’s because
All facts cannot be disclosed
Certain things are best unsaid
So what you heard and what is read
Are not always the whole story
In the name of security
Certain things cannot be disclosed
So the whole truth I can only suppose
Is known by only those
Of those that’re in the know.
Bridge
The truth is true – if only we knew
Which parts they actually are
Lies I despise and cause conflict
Some get irate and can’t wait
To speak out (wrong end of the stick)
And usually they are the ones
Who actually know jack-shit!
Break
We’re not told everything
And for which they have good reason
People in high places, they hold the aces
Don’t need wannabe jokers…
Shouting in their faces.
Chorus
The majority rule
Is what they say
Especially in a land of
Democracy.
Just remember Brexit
Thanks to democracy!
Lies were told about costs involved
About EU membership
Even those in the know, had to go
The Tories made their exit
And now it’s the Labour Party
Thanks to democracy!
Outro
What lies beneath?
Any proof of the truth?
We’re easily led by what we’re fed
But what’s unsaid and disclosed
In regard to the hard facts
Is only known by those in the know
And best that all others don’t.
