(Sometimes I used to write lyrics just for fun, by playing around with double meanings, innuendos and taking the mickey out of stereotypical phrases, or just use them in a more literal sense, as I did in this song).
Verse 1
I’ve got this disease (disease)
I can’t get my fingers off the keys
Once I get started I cannot stop
So now I’m playing get down and rock.
Verse 2
When there’s so much good heavy music
I get inspiration and start to use it
I get out the board and give it a shot
So now I’m playing get down and rock.
Verse 3
Feel so high I’m in the sky
But I don’t know how long ‘cos I can’t fly
But while I’m here right at the top
Enjoying the heights get down and rock.
Verse 4
Is this a party or is this a gig?
Whatever it is let’s make it big
Drink your drink until you drop
But right now you’re gonna rock.
“Get down and rock”
Verse 5
Drink your drink and if you drop
Have a diet pepsi ‘cos it’ll life you up
If that fails after you fall
I then want to see you rock ’n’ roll.
