lyrics to ‘Killer In The Making (Payback)’ created from ‘The God Trial’ which I wrote in 1992

The first 2 verses and last verse were written this year, to justify the title of the song and make it a more simplified version.  ‘The God Trial’ was a very long song which I turned into a script.  The original was about a killer mocking the religious sect, whereas this was about someone who was bullied and merely seeking revenge.

    KILLER IN THE MAKING (PAYBACK)

At school I wasn’t bright, in fact I was thick
People only taunted me, if not punched and kicked
Time to turn the tables, my vision is clear
In my mind it is justified, may you all live in fear.

I’ll darken light of stars that shine, to clever people blow their minds
As for the strong I’ll bring them down and the rich financially ground
I’ll do what I chose and what I please, kill the rich or spread disease
Twist your arm or break your knees, burn you all in a thousand degrees.

From birth I rose, a religious foe, a christian birth, for not it’s worth
A son of God, but flesh and blood, out of control from powers above
They call you ‘God Almighty’ – Father of this race
But your might is like a mite, out of sight in the night.

Each night they pray, in faith they lay, on hope you give, in faith you live
You’re over-praised, a long term phase, from such a power hell was raised.

I’ve become a killer, I kill for thrills – I revel in the blood that spills
While others pray to live each day, you have no say in who will stay,
I’ll strike again – another death and then another death…
Once again the people die while I still survive
Now I’ve got the upper hand to the assholes it’s goodbye.

I’ve got your numbers, I remember all your names
Time for payback, time to taste the pain
Time for payback, time to taste the pain
Time for payback, time to taste the pain
Time for payback, time to taste the pain
Time for payback, time to taste the pain
In my mind it’s justified – time to taste the pain.

    Update

Well people, my 2 weeks off work has just begun and I’ve managed to add many of my early lyrics to this website.  In addition to that I have just created a keyboard version of ‘The Lonely Heart Hotel’, which I hope to record within the next day or two.  If I manage to sing it well it should be a good song to check out.  It has never been recorded in its entirety since it was written in 1992.  Some of you may have checked out the early recording, featuring just guitar and vocals of the first half of the song, on SoundCloud already.  Hopefully, within the next couple of days, you will be able to hear the complete song.  It should be a classic if I can pull it off well.  It will be uploaded as soon as I have recorded it.

A big welcome to new followers…

Thank you to everybody around the world who checked ‘The Lost Connection’ out on FaceBook last week.  I paid for a one-day page boost because I was told I was entitled to £10 towards page promotion (and out of curiosity). Not sure if I was discounted £10 or not (all will be revealed soon!).  Thanks for all ‘likes’, followers and ‘shares’.  Sorry I have been unable to respond to the malicious messages sent to this webiste because they are automatically blocked (all 180 of them – interesting fact there).

At the moment SoundCloud is still just my music junkbox. There are some well recorded songs in there, but a lot is just memorabilia, nostalgia and self-indulgence.  Nonetheless, I hope other people can enjoy some of it to a certain extent.  The real promotion will not begin until next spring, probably.  The main area I am focussing on at the moment is the lyrics.  I am still adding them to my FaceBook notes and linking them to the www.the-lost-connection.com.  I will record (and re-record) many songs in the coming year(s) and, hopefully, make them sound more professional and contemporary eventually.

Thanks for reading this and hope you continue to visit the ‘Lost’ world in the future.

    Colin

Many lyrics now available to view on FaceBook

    Good morning to all readers!

At the moment, most of my lyrics I am typing on my FaceBook ‘notes’ section and then linking to them to my ‘Complete Songs, Lyrics and Poems List’.  If you want to view  the lyrics which I have added go to www.facebook.com/thelostconnection.  Come into the world of ‘Lost’ but not forgotten, lyrics’.

    Thanks.

Old songs have been found (and nearly all on SoundCloud now)…

Back in the 1990s when 4-trackers were cool, I recorded lots of songs. Unfortunately, when burgled by a lodger on December 21st, 2001, the 4-tracker was stolen amongst many other things.  Between 1994 and 2001 lots of songs were recorded, but just remained on tape and, after moving several times, the recordings were hidden away and forgot…  Well, not forgot, but I forgot where I hid them.  Some of the recordings were transferred into computer formats, but many remained on tape and were never to be heard.

Over the next few weeks I will transfer these recordings onto my SoundCloud website.  Meanwhile, I will upload the lyrics to these songs and see what response they get.  They will all be attached to the ‘Complete Poems, Lyrics and Songs List’, so they can be listened to by anyone if they want.

The songs that I will be uploading are:

    1.  Twist
    2. Do It!
    3. Let Me In Your Tunnel Of Love
    4. Radio 1 – The Nation’s Number One
    5. You’re My One And Only Love
    6. If Only! (the complete version)
    7. Time For Change
    8. Shadows And Light
    9. Unknown Origin
    10. Love Music (the original version)
    11. Goodnight, Sweet Love
    12. Moment Of Despair
    13. Blue

There maybe more, but that is all I can remember at the moment.

I cannot guarantee that they will be liked, but I will be happy to upload them finally, rather than leaving them to continue to collect dust and never being heard.

Thanks for reading this and I hope you check out the lyrics and songs which I will be uploading soon.

    Bye for now,

    Colin

I haven’t done much with the website this week. I have improved some vocals, and the mix, on a few songs and uploaded some more lyrics from the past. All 787 lyrics have been briefly exposed on my FaceBook page (a few lines from each). I have been listening to old live recordings of a band I was in (1996-1998) called ‘Protocol’ and realising just how good they were. I started to slip some of my tunes/songs in towards the end, but only created the solos in the already written songs (and virtually told how to play the rest of it). Excellent musicians which brought the best out in me I think. I’m still hoping to get together for ‘The Lost & Found’ reunion in 8 weeks time. I have put the best of each collaborative line-up in my SoundCloud profile. Innovator has been excluded as they have their own website.

    Can you sing?

As you all know, I am not a very good singer in the grand scheme of things (and certain people might say I’m ‘not a singer full-stop!’) so I was wondering if anyone out there is interested, or knows somebody who maybe interested, in adding vocals to some of my music to complete the songs.  I have uploaded loads of ‘music only’ tracks and am gradually adding all of the lyrics to my FaceBook site.  If you like any of the tunes you hear (or even any of the lyrics I have posted) and would like to have a go at singing them then let me know.  I will make sure the music is complete and matches the lyrics, if it’s not already, and then look forward to the result.

If I like what I hear then I may actually invite the vocalist(s) to record a song with me properly.  If you are not interested in doing this, but still want to show off your singing skills then I won’t be offended, but will still be pleased that you partook in this opportunity.  If the final result sounds good then I will upload (or maybe release the song) as ‘The Lost Connection (ft, yourself)’

    Thanks,

    Colin (The Lost Connection)

Anger Rapped In Anger (Head In The Hood) Song 783

I apologise for the offensive language and controversial matters contained within this song.  It was inspired by modern day rap black rap.

    V1.
I’m gonna drive a black BMW, go down town with a different point of view
Mingle with the niggers into vice, world of gangsta — what’s the price?
…White man, from a white land, can I say nigger?  Understand
This is a rap from a head in a hood, don’t need alcohol, coke is good.

4 lines so far and more to come…
    The rap has begun.
    V2.
Gonna show anger and create rage about poverty in this day and age
Racist abuse and alienation, bad mother fuckers in this nation
Drawing bad pictures, inflicting hate, innocent ones misfortune awaits:
That’s blacks, immigrants and religious sects who feel fear and disrespect.

    CH.
We’re categorised, victimised, stereotyped and cast aside
Disregarded and we’re abused, equal opportunities we’re refused.

    V3.
I’m angered by what is said, the stories told and the shit we’re fed
How we look and the theories drawn, tattoos, piercings and skinhead scorn
Gender offender, religious jibe, pedophile priests and suicide
Bombers who are promised heaven, brings back memories of 9/11.

    V4..
This world is fucked up and so diverse, no-one can tell what is better or worse
We cannot distinguish or identify, whose gonna kill and who’s gonna die…
My anger is angered even more, now I’m angrier than before…
I decided to analyse, life on the other side.

    CH.
We’re categorised, victimised, stereo-typed and cast aside
Disregarded and we’re abused, equal opportunities we’re refused.

    V5.
Moving away from this scene, the ‘best’ isn’t always as good as it seems
A world of bullshit and commercial lies, a cheesy world that is so contrived
Everything’s based on financial gain, not from the heart but more from the brain
Psychologically we’re twisted inside, and forced to like and not to decide.
    BR.
On a musical note we don’t need melody, to interact and have an impact
With plenty of bass and a shit hot beat, swear the truth and fuck discreet
Feel what I’m saying, hear what is playing, see how we look and the style we’re displaying
We’re unruly, cool, we break the rules, we learn what we learn but not at schools.

    CH.
We’re categorised, victimised, stereo-typed and cast aside
Disregarded and we’re abused, equal opportunities we’re refused.

    V6.
Now I’m driving back to my prefab, on the way I’m gonna buy a kebab
Then go home and watch television, ‘Celebrity Juice’ or the ‘Eurovision
Song contest’, which I do each year, may then open some cans of beer
Too, and chill out at home, then go to the gym tomorrow alone.
Now it’s goodbye from the head in the hood, turning bad shit into something good…
Know what I mean?  Anger management!

The Lonely Heart Hotel (Song 075)

This song I have not put on FaceBook yet, and I definitely haven’t shared it, as there are loads of innuendos (and I mean LOADS!).   If you don’t understand the real meaning behind this song then don’t worry, you won’t be the first.   If enough people like it I may share it with more of the world.

    Verse 1

I was lying on my sack, feeling slack, something was lacking
I was feeling thin, the shape I’m in, something is missing
I need to get out, and about, and do something
‘Cos while I’m lying here, it’s clear, I’m good enough for nothing.

    Chorus

I’ve gotta get out, I’ve gotta do something
Get my blood pumping and shake my stuff
I’ve gotta get out and get back into shape
I’ll straighten-up and lift my head
    And rise to the occasion.

    Verse 2

So out of the house I went, hell bent
    For some fun
I decided in my mind it was time
    To get things done
So I headed into town, looked around
    For some action
I followed the sound, and I found, the main attraction.

And there stood before me, a beautiful sight to see.

    Chorus

I’ve gotta get in, I’ve gotta do something                                                                                    Feel my blood pumping, gonna shake my stuff
I’ve gotta get in, get back into shape
I’ll straighten-up and lift my head
    And rise for the occasion.

    Verse 3

But everybody, in the street, only wandered by
The pubs were places, where they raced, to enjoy the night
But I liked what I saw, and the doors, drew me near
I lifted up my head, and I said, “Can I come in?”.

    Chorus

I’m gonna get in, the fun will soon begin
My blood is pumping, gonna do my thing
I’m gonna go in, I feel I’m in shape
I’ve straightened-up and lifted my head
    And risen for the occasion.

    Verse 4

But when I went to enter, in the centre, they said, “No!”
The two fat, hairy, lippy bouncers, said I had to go
Always remember to bring a member, if you wanna enter in
If you haven’t got such, then you haven’t much, chance of succeeding.

    Chorus

I’ve gotta get in, I’ve gotta do something
Gotta find a member for things to begin                                                                                      I’ve got get in, I was feeling in shape
But now I’m feeling down, can’t believe what was said
    After rising for the occasion.

    Verse 5

I wandered off, well pissed-off, with my head hung low
A member I had to find, although a bind, I had to go
So I went to a bar, not too far, down the hill
Got talking to a few about a view to a thrill:

I saId, “If I pay, what do you say – will I be let in?”

“Yeh! Sure, You’ll be cool, Johnny is a member.”
    Verse 6

When Johnny and I arrived, no surprise, the doors opened at last!                                        But they us getting in, said one thing, before we passed:
“Now wait, get this straight, before you enter in:
“Remember John’,  you’ve gotta get on, before things begin.”

“See the sign, ‘No spillages allowed!’
The member, Johnny, will be liable for spillages within the hotel.
    You may now enter.”
