    An update…

    8 May 2018

    Hello people,

I now have 2 months left to complete this website, but what happens after that who knows. I will endeavour to spruce the website up a bit, with pics or videos maybe, but let’s not promise too much just yet. This month I have recorded 3 new songs already, but SoundCloud is not gaining the listeners as much as it used to. This could be due to the fact that the songs this month aren’t so good, or because followers are listening and liking them via my Twitter site. I must admit I have not spent very long recording the last two and I guess it could be my own fault, lol. Anyway, thank you to those that are listening and reading my lyrics, whether it be on Twitter, FaceBook or SoundCloud. I will try and spend a bit more time perfecting the next songs this month.

    While I’m taking a short break…

    14 March 2018

    Hi all,

I’m now about to go away for a few days playing golf in France, but at least I managed to record a couple of songs this week.  ‘In The Doghouse’ was a very old song which I finally got around to recording on my own, but ‘My Special Friend’ was turned from just lyrics into a song in one session earlier this week and recorded instantly.  I had no idea how I intended this song to sound, but within moments it developed into the song it is (and now on SoundCloud).  I was so pleased with the mic I used for ‘My Special Friend’ and can’t wait to use it on all future songs.   As well as recording these two songs I have also added quite a few more lyrics to the ‘titles’ list.  The deadline for completion of the website is still July 6th, 2018, which I should manage to meet in time.  I’m glad to see ‘Cloud 9’ (the instrumental version) getting a lot of listens this month.  Suddenly it has gained a lot of interest, but I’m not sure why but I am very glad to see it.  I may make it little shorter in the future, but not change the essential parts of the tune.  Anyway, bye for now and keep checking out some of the 180 songs and tunes which are now on my ‘SoundCloud’ and/or the lyrics on FaceBook or website.

    Thanks,

    The Lost Connection

    January 2018

    31 January 2018

Well, as it’s the end of the month, here is a round-up.   So far 4 songs have been recorded and/or completed, and uploaded (which is keeping to my plan of a new upload every week this year).   I have also written 3 sets of lyrics too.  Apart from that, all I have doing is just been typing lyrics onto my FaceBook webpage every morning and evening during the week.  Every time I come across which I find interesting, or think someone else might, I share it with the public.  All of the lyrics are then linked to the relative song title on THE LOST CONNECTION: THE COMPLETE LIST OF SONGS, LYRICS AND POEM.  I’m not sure how many more songs I have got left to type out, but I am adding quite a few more each week.

I have realised that many of my ideas, particularly in the 2002- 2011, have needed improvements and have done so accordingly.   This was a bad period for me in terms of eventualities (excluding my marriage of course).

In the early days (1980s and 1990s), I made sure that my lyrics were exactly as I wanted them before finalising them, but as time passed I tended to throw ideas on paper and  not perfect them before declaring them complete.   The good thing is I am now able to improve them and, if I hadn’t logged them, may never have got around to it (and, thus, the ideas may have been gone forever).

Anyway, I’ve got to go and get my car serviced now and then off to bed.  I may add more to the blog later.  Bye for now though.

This is the beginning of my songwriting history in a website. So far music has been uploaded on Soundcloud, and various other sites, that was either written and recorded by me (the ‘Lost’ one) or featured myself in ‘The Lost & Found’ (a duo collaboration). I had also uploaded other recordings with the current band I’m in, but have been removed now, and three songs of a 1990s band I was in (Protocol). All of the songs feature me on keyboards and, quite often, on vocals too . I do not claim to be a singer but, when you can’t find anyone else, you have to do it yourself. A lot of ‘The Lost Connection’ songs were uploaded just to expose my efforts so far. None of them are perfectly recorded, at the moment, but I felt they needed to be exposed (just so they would not be totally forgotten and disregarded). I used SoundCloud as my internet music scrapbook. This was just to see which songs, in a demo format, gained the most attention. It was also done to try and show my song writing versatility. Now, though, I have decided to create this website. Here, every poem, lyric, or song I have ever written, will be listed. I am hoping to explain how many of them were written and what inspired me to write them. Some of these will be exclusive to only certain people, but many will be accessible to anybody who decides to view the site. Eventually, I hope to be able to give songwriting tuition to anybody requiring such. I will also include video clips of me composing tunes and, sometimes, performing the songs in various formats, e.g. song, spoken word, or drums with vocals. I have had no success as of yet, but haven’t really gone searching for it. I have reached a point where I feel I must, at least, share what I have written and, hopefully, inspire and entertain. This is an intro which, by the time you have read it, may have developed a bit more than when it was typed… hopefully! PS. Thank you for entering this zone and for reading this introductory page. You are always welcome into the ‘LOST’ world (Lost, but not forgotten, lyrics). If you would like to link-up on a business level, and/or have regular updates then please sign up for membership and connect with ‘The Lost Connection’.
