Out On The Town (Song 0306)

This was a tricky song to write as it was written in a way that nearly every word, before and after, individually form their own meaning, as well as forming a story throughout.

It’s about two guys going out in car, gate-crashing a party and nearly getting lucky, then into town, more drinking, pulled over by the police, but got of the hook somehow, then go to a strip club and this then leads to disaster.

Gate crash landin’ house
Party plan ate food and
Drink punch drunk threw
Up town centre stage
Act stupid cupid’s
Strong bow and arrow head
In sider chance came
Fed the pussy
Cats’ eyes drive along
Journey home town lights
Lead the way into the
Black night – white and blue
Night shift panda car
Parked ahead start thinking
Straight away out look
Good lucky man handled
Well spoken word of warning:

“Don’t drink and drive!”

Chorus
Out on the town
Seeing what’s going down
Out on the town
Seeing what’s going down.

But then back for more:
Lucky dip stick stuck a round
Table top less dancing
Night watch out looks good enough
Drink to sink a ship
Wreck less on in
To a coma toes up
Back down and out side
Patient Lee he waits…

In side ward (words)  “Worth
Changing your ways.”

Chorus
Out on the town
Seeing what’s going down
Out on the town
Seeing what’s going down.

Chorus
Out on the town
Seeing what’s going down
Jim ‘n’ me on the town
Jimmy – down and out!
