I’ve have just segregated the my newest songs into monthly collections, eg. 2017 – December, 2018 – January, 2018 – February. At the end of the year I’ll see which month was the best in terms of listens and likes. I am constantly improving the songs after the initial upload so, if you did happen to listen to any of the songs and weren’t too keen on them, there is a chance that you may like them now they have been remixed or vocally improved. Thanks to anyone who does spend a bit of there time listening to my songs and/or reading my lyrics.

January 2018
Well, as it’s the end of the month, here is a round-up. So far 4 songs have been recorded and/or completed, and uploaded (which is keeping to my plan of a new upload every week this year). I have also written 3 sets of lyrics too. Apart from that, all I have doing is just been typing lyrics onto my FaceBook webpage every morning and evening during the week. Every time I come across which I find interesting, or think someone else might, I share it with the public. All of the lyrics are then linked to the relative song title on THE LOST CONNECTION: THE COMPLETE LIST OF SONGS, LYRICS AND POEM. I’m not sure how many more songs I have got left to type out, but I am adding quite a few more each week.
I have realised that many of my ideas, particularly in the 2002- 2011, have needed improvements and have done so accordingly. This was a bad period for me in terms of eventualities (excluding my marriage of course).
In the early days (1980s and 1990s), I made sure that my lyrics were exactly as I wanted them before finalising them, but as time passed I tended to throw ideas on paper and not perfect them before declaring them complete. The good thing is I am now able to improve them and, if I hadn’t logged them, may never have got around to it (and, thus, the ideas may have been gone forever).
Anyway, I’ve got to go and get my car serviced now and then off to bed. I may add more to the blog later. Bye for now though.

Should I become a songwriting blogger?
Hello readers,
I was totally new to this blogging world until I created this website, but it was something I had to do in order to let the world know that I exist and to show I am being productive. Since I started blogging I have acquired more followers on FaceBook, Twitter and SoundCloud. I am not promoting my songwriting at the moment, as my site is nowhere near complete yet (and my songs still need improving in order to gain any credibility). Once I have uploaded every single set of lyrics, and the musical accompaniments, as well as maybe adding some pictures and video clips, I will then spread the word and try and gain more interest. Meanwhile though, whether anybody wants to know about me and my life or not, I will probably write the blogs in a diary like fashion and will update everyone on how my songwriting and music is progressing. Let me know what you think and feel free to ask me anything about my songwriting. Thanks.

What’s Wrong… (Title 797)
Misfortune is unfortunate
When laughed at it’s criminal ( I think)
Beating-up a criminal is illegal
But killing the public is feasible
In times of war (as long as they are foreign).
Are foreigners offended?
Did criminals laugh?
Depends where you’re from
And whether you really care.
Care is about caring
Do you care what I think?
A terrorist once said
With his loaded gun
Pointing at their head.
Lying is immoral
But sometimes the truth can hurt
Secrets are secretive
And only secretly work.
Is religion to be believed
To continue after death?
“Yes” said the suicide bomber
With explosives strapped to his chest.
Somethings are illegal
And the law should be abided
But some laws are questionable
Like the people by whom which
The laws were decided.© 2018 – Colin E. PyleNB. Strange world innit!!! -
Tales Of The Unexpected (796)
This is the second set of lyrics I have written this year. This was written over the last few days in short bursts of free time. This is currently in a ‘rap poetry’ format. There maybe slight changes if, and when, music is added.
TALES OF THE UNEXPECTED
You maybe on track, then you may be derailed
You think you’ve passed, but discovered you’ve failed
You maybe married, but in time divorce
You feel at ease, but then you’re forced
Into the unexpected
You feel loved but then neglected
On a winning streak, but then rejectedAnd then you question what the heck’s going on
In life? Divorced with no wife
Everything you do makes you think twice
Now never knowing what lies ahead
You feel healthy, but you could soon be dead…
Tomorrow, got to rise above the sorrow
Try not to wallow in what is and what is no more
Time to learn from the mistakes before .When all’s gone you’ve got to be strong
And after the demise, rise
Above pessimism and depression
Learn and lead towards progression
That’s the endeavour – easier said than done, but
Whatever may happen, but you never know
Try your best and see what shows
Life is a game and for winning we aim…For contention is key and never greed
Instead of trapped we need to be freed
Gain inclination and slowly progress
Into a life of happiness.© 2018 – Colin E. Pyle

Task In Hand
Hello to all readers.
I thank you to anyone who is reading this post. This message is directed mainly at music promotion companies who have been offering to promote. If it’s genuine I do thank you, but in many cases it does seem to be just routine business links that are sent to anyone who appears on a music website. At this point in time, and up until July, I am just building this website. I am not a performing artist and therefore most of the promotional services offered are not relevant to me, unless you can throw me a whole band of session musicians as well as finance my progression.
If you like what I write and record then contact me on a songwriting level for now, and put a ‘like’ against any songs which you do like and follow me on SoundCloud, Twitter, FaceBook or on this website (www.the-lost-connection.com). One day I would like to collaborate with other musicians and writers, and, ultimately, be a part of the music production industry. Admittedly, I would like to release some of my songs when I feel they are good enough, but only for myself, primarily. This is a hobby that I like to share with whoever likes it, but I am not chasing any level of success at this point in time.
So, as a conclusive ending to this ‘post’, if you want to promote me then realise what I have said above and, meanwhile, I will continue to build this website until it is complete. This may involve adding pictures and video clips to ‘tart it up’ a bit and make it a bit more visually interesting. This is a commercial element which I do not like getting involved in and may have to turn to certain friends who do specialise in photography and website designing for a living.
Thank you.

The ‘Lost, But Never Forgot’ Update
“Lost, But Never Forgot” has undergone various remixes and, although still room for improvement, this is the final mix (for now).
I started creating this Website in May last year and, by the end of the year had made a lot of progress. As well as adding many lyrics to this website and adding vintage recordings to my SoundCloud site, I also recorded 26 new (and old) songs. For the first 6 months I was still in ‘Innovator’ (gigging and recording) so I managed to knuckle down well once I’d left on the 6th June.
This year I have already created one new tune and turned it into a song (the one mentioned above) and I have decided to try and upload a new song every week. This could either be a song from my past or a completely new one. I will be, like most people, taking a few breaks this year but, nonetheless, I will still endeavour to upload 52 songs this year. I am hoping to type and upload every lyric, which I have ever written, to this website by 6th July, 2018.
Can’t wait to get recording another song at the weekend.
Bye for now!

Lost, But Never Forgot (Song 795)
Well, on the 1st January I created a new tune on the spot and uploaded it to SoundCloud. A few days later I messed around with the structure a little bit and then, yesterday sung/rapped it. Today, though, I have played around with it a bit more and think I’ve improved it now. I looped a 16 beat patch and kept the original alongside it. Hope you all like it.

Amended typing errors
Recently, I noticed I had made a hash of some the song lyrics I’d posted or blogged. ‘Counteraction Gun’ has now been corrected. I have been changing some of the words and, occasionally, errors do occur. I have been typing out hundreds of my lyrics onto my FaceBook page and making slight improvements if, and where, necessary but, due to the amount I have got to get through, I haven’t been checking everything before putting them online. Not very professional of me, but it will all look great eventually, lol.

Happy Christmas
Well I hope everyone’s having a great time. Looking forward to the new year and I hope you all manage to achieve happiness and success.
Unfortunately, I am rather ill and have not gone out for the only two nights I was able to, and have turned down a lovely Christmas meal invitation. Today my headache has finally gone after 2 days and my body is no longer aching as much as it was, but I am still coughing occasionally (quite violently too!) and sneezing and blowing my nose constantly. Well it is winter and this kind of thing happens, but I just don’t feel like doing anything. I am meant to be going back to work tomorrow, but really am not sure if I’ll be up for it. Guess I’ll have to see how I feel tomorrow. The good news is I am on my own and keeping my germs to myself and, as it happens, had no major plans for this Christmas anyway. Let’s hope I’m well by tomorrow or, at least, by the new year!
More positive posts in the future hopefully!
Cheers and best wishes for the new year.
