This is a fictional story, but may have occurred to other people. A story with a slightly witty twist at the end.
Verse 1
She said she knew me
But didn’t know my name
She thought we went to the same school
But her face I couldn’t recall.
Pre-Chorus
I didn’t know her then
But I’d like to know her now
I asked her what she thought of me
Then…
Chorus
Then – she liked me
Now – could she be
Come my friend?
Let’s see what happens next.
Verse 2
She said she liked me
But we’d never got to speak
She said she’d have liked to
But never ever managed to.
Pre-Chorus
But now the time had finally come
Contact had been made
Would it come to more than this
Now?
Chorus
Then – she liked me
Now – could she be
Come my friend?
Let’s see what happens next.
Verse 3
We struck a chord
A good combination
Characters of a similar kind
We both spoke our minds.
So I told her straight
That I liked her too
But wasn’t quite sure
What to do
As body language took control
Interest began to grow
My thoughts began to show
Now!
Back then was a shame
But now is a gain
Was I who she thought I was?
I guess it matters not
I like what I’ve got
And she seems happy too…
This was just a sunny spell
Suddenly the rain fell
When I told her my name
I wasn’t who she thought I was
Then..
Chorus
Then – she liked me (not!)
Now – she could be (what?)
Come my friend
Will anything happen next?
