What Lies Beneath The Truth? (1062)

The majority rule
Is what they say
Do you believe in
Democracy?
If obese is
The popular weight
Slim is strange
And now out of date.

If most of the race
Were not bright
Intelligent would be odd
And wouldn’t seem right
So if (and when) a genius
Says that they know
What most of us don’t
Hostility would show.

The majority may not be the best
The minority aren’t always less
We must realise difference is fine
And all will become apparent in time.

(Break)
But then, although said
Now and again, we’ll still see
Freaks in the street or on the web
With crazy ideas in their head
With theories, defying belief
Dispelling the knowledge
We have acquired
And everything we have achieved.

Sometimes we get confused
We don’t know the real truth
‘Specially when one says they know
Ranting on with no proof

Curiosity shows, interest grows
But the majority disbelieve
The young may be influenced
And those that are naïve.

But now, in the world of AI
What lies above
And what lies beneath
The truth?
Power to deceive
What you see now
And the words that you read
Could be artificial…
And if they were in this song
That would even scare me.
